Whether you fix your hair every day, or pull it up in a bun… it’s still nice to have beautiful, healthy hair. These natural treatments for healthy hair can help give correct most any hair issue pregnancy and nursing hormones can bring about. Plus – they’re a great reason to practice a little self-care.
Banana & Coconut Milk for Dull Hair
Known to be rich in vitamins (Vitamin A, B, C and E) and minerals (potassium, zinc, iron and manganese), the banana is a great remedy for fighting off dull hair. Banana encourages soft hair and protects its natural elasticity. To do this, you’ll need to prepare 2 to 3 tablespoons of coconut milk, ½ ripe avocado and 1 ripe banana.
Directions:
Mash the banana and avocado first.
Add the coconut milk to the mixture and mix well until it becomes a smooth paste.
Apply to hair and leave on for 20-30 minutes.
Wash off with lukewarm water.
Itchy Scalp & Hair Treatment with Aloe Vera

The popularity of aloe vera in hair treatments is undeniable. Its moisturizing properties can greatly relieve excessive dryness and itching. Prepare an amount of fresh gel of aloe vera or buy from your local herb store and water.
Directions:
Spread the fresh aloe vera gel into your hair and scalp. Let it sit on the hair for about 15 minutes. Then wash the hair as normal with mild shampoo.
Oily Or Greasy Hair Treatment With Tea Rinse

To avoid having greasy hair, avoid applying too much hair product on the scalp, as this causes overproduction of oils. Try to veer away from using deep conditioning products – do apply conditioner at hair ends in small quantities instead. To treat oily hair, try using the tea rinse recipe. Tea contains tannic acid which acts as astringent, helping reduce oiliness.
Directions:
Boil tea leaves in a pan with a glass of water. Let it cool down for 60 minutes.
After shampooing the hair, rinse it with the diluted tea mixture, making sure you cover the scalp and the hair. Then leave it on for a few minutes. Then rinse with water as usual.
Frizzy Hair Treatment With Mayonnaise and Avocado

The mayonnaise and avocado treatment recipe is perfect for frizzy hair treatment. The avocado oil for hair is a known remedy for moisturizing dry, brittle and frizzy hair. All you will need is half avocado and 1 or 2 tbsp of mayonnaise, sour cream or egg yolks.
Directions:
Mash the avocado and massage it thoroughly on your damp hair. Let your hair absorb its natural oil for 15 minutes before washing it off with water.
Adding 2 tbsp of mayonnaise, sour cream or egg yolks to the mashed avocado can level up its moisturizing power. This treatment can be done every two weeks.
Beer, Raw Egg & Sunflower for Limp or Fine Hair
Beer is a known fermented drink with generous supplies of yeast that can help plump up hair. Prepare ½ cup of flat beer with 1 tsp of light oil (canola oil or sunflower oil) and a raw egg.
Directions:
Mix the beer (let it sit out in a container for about 2 hours to deplete carbonation) with 1 tsp of light oil and raw egg. Apply to your damp hair and leave it for 15 minutes. Rinse it off with cool water then shampoo as normal. Do this once a week.
Honey & Olive Oil for Damaged Hair

Honey contains vitamins, mineral and antioxidants that can help hydrate the hair and improve it elasticity and soothe hair cuticles. Using honey can give your hair a soft, shiny and manageable hair. To repair damaged hair, prepare ½ cup of honey, 1 to 2 tbsp of olive oil and 1 to 2 tbsp of avocado or egg yolk.
Directions:
Massage your clean and damp hair with the ½ cup of honey. Leave the honey on for about 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water. You may add 1 or 2 tbsp of olive oil to help loosen the honey upon applying. If the hair is sun-damaged, try mixing the honey with avocado or egg yolk to help replenish the keratin in the hair. Do this treatment once a month.
